Friendly, helpful staff and a wonderful location. We had a great evening meal and breakfast.

Even with a reservation made several weeks ahead, we were squeezed into a cramped table for two, just centimeters from other diners. The other option offered was a small table by the toilets, while spacious tables for four stayed empty all evening. It was a quiet midweek night, so we were really disappointed by how L'Esplanade handled the seating. They don’t seem to care about the customer experience, and we won’t be back.

We went twice and enjoyed both visits. The food was delicious and the service friendly and attentive. Just one small letdown: one of the steaks wasn’t as tender as we’d hoped. Highly recommended.

On the way to our home in France, we had a lovely stopover here. The room was comfortable, with views over the river, and we caught an amazing sunset and sunrise. Good food and wine too. I’d recommend it.

The place got very busy, so booking ahead was a good idea. We had the three-course à la carte menu, with some distinctive dishes, and both the service and food quality were high. It was excellent.
