We wanted a quiet chalet with a lovely view and comfortable rooms, so my wife and I booked it for a week. At €1,490, we left disappointed. It has an old-fashioned, dusty feel that made us think of the 19th century, and we didn't find it particularly clean. The sofas, for instance, were stained. The listing photos don't show everything. Some ground-floor ceilings are low, and at 6'3" I kept hitting my head on a beam. Having to duck constantly made it hard to relax. The road up to the chalet is very rocky and difficult, and a 4x4 would be more suitable. The contract promised central heating and plenty of hot water, but neither matched what we found. There was no central heating, just several wood-burning stoves and a central fireplace. The fireplace seemed not to have been cleaned in a long time and filled the chalet with smoke, especially upstairs. The kitchen and bathroom electric heaters didn't work, and the only other option was a small oil-filled portable radiator that couldn't heat the whole chalet. Even though it was cold, the water was only lukewarm. The owner asked us to switch off the circuit breaker if there were thunderstorms. Fortunately we didn't need to, since spending a holiday by candlelight wouldn't suit us. There's no outdoor charger for an electric vehicle either. You have to plug it into a shed behind the chalet. We also couldn't get a dependable internet connection. There's no router, and although the owner assured me that 4G tethering from my phone worked, I couldn't connect my laptop. I wouldn't recommend this chalet to anyone looking for modern comforts or reliable amenities.
For peace and quiet surrounded by wild nature, this is the place. You may see chamois, roe deer, deer, wolves, and other animals. The chalet is magnificent, and the owners are super friendly. I'll definitely be back.
