The owner was lovely, though our French and English didn’t stretch very far. When I tried to tell her I might have caused the hotel’s power to go out by using a faulty converter with my North American phone, she misunderstood and plugged my already-burnt charger back in. There was a bang and a spark, then a yell, wide eyes, a burnt hand, and a restaurant plunged into darkness. She didn’t charge me for the mishap, which was a relief for my very humbled self and my bank account. My room looked out over a small garden. The place was basic, as I expected for the price, but clean and quiet. It’s a bit far from central Paris, especially if you’re a tourist with no grasp of the language. I’m a bit of an adventurer, though, and getting lost in translation and around the country countless times was part of the fun. Merci.

The food is simple, excellent, and made with natural ingredients, and the place has a lovely family feel. Some people may find it a little old-fashioned. We first stumbled on it last month, then came back this time knowing what to expect. Definitely worth discovering, and we’ll return.

Breakfast came with homemade jam, and the room had its own toilet and shower. It was quiet and perfectly adequate, with a warm, friendly welcome. An authentic place like this is exactly what I wish we came across more often.

The rooms are on the small side, but they’ve been renovated nicely. It’s quiet, easy to get to, and the welcome was friendly. Good value for the money.

We rented the studio for five. The lady was welcoming, and the place was simple, though my own impression was that it felt quite old. The toilet and bathroom were cramped.
