Hôtel 1770 & Spa

There’s a really friendly team here, always ready to help, and the restaurant is excellent. The rooms are super comfortable, and there’s an indoor pool and spa too. This fully remodeled four star hotel is a little gem just a few minutes from Avignon. Enjoy!

The rooms were clean, quiet and nice, and the staff were excellent. My only issue was the distance: a taxi to central Avignon costs 30 euro, and we’d hoped to stay closer to the center.

The attached restaurant is a real highlight, clearly popular with the locals, with excellent food, staff and ambience. We also enjoyed the small, pleasant pool, which wasn’t busy and made for a calm place to relax. This was our second stay at this tranquil hotel, and we stayed two nights to visit historic Avignon. Although 1770 is outside the city, a convenient bus gets you there in less than 30 minutes, and the tickets are very cheap. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout, and we’d happily return.

We felt tucked away from everything despite the hotel’s unusual location, and the place was such a calm bubble after a day of travel. Everyone on staff was friendly and took time to show us around as though we were the only guests. The spacious room and tranquil indoor pool and spa were very welcome. We had a delicious dinner at the hotel restaurant, which seemed to be a local favorite. It had a lovely atmosphere, made even better by the Spanish guitarist. We’d thoroughly recommend a stay.
