The pool was nice, but getting to a beach meant taking the bus or walking 20 minutes. There’s no air conditioning in the rooms, so I left a window open and then couldn’t sleep because of the mosquitoes. The food quality was low.

The pool itself is nice, and the activity leaders were attentive and friendly. The activities were pretty good too, especially the morning sessions for children from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., which gave parents some time to themselves. The director was approachable and generally honored requests. We were given a second fan even though apartments usually get one. With three of us in the apartment, two in the bedroom and one on the living-room sofa bed, that was no luxury. There were some real drawbacks. The meals cost too much in my opinion, around 11 euros per person per meal, children included. The pool is on a lower level and hard to reach with a stroller or young children. My 7-year-old managed, but a sloped paved path, perhaps with steps on one side, would help. I’d also review the swimwear allowed there. I’m fine with it at the beach, but not at a holiday village pool. The biggest problem was the lack of air conditioning. In the Var heat in mid-August, the apartment was unbearable. We ended up sleeping part of the night on the balcony on a half-naked mattress. We were lucky to be in an apartment with little direct access, since the neighbors across the street left on the second day. We had a good time, but we won’t return unless these things improve.

Le Pradet is a pleasant little town, with a market and less crowding than its nearby “cousins.” Parking is free, even at the beaches. Just be aware there are no sandy beaches, and rocks are in the water at all of them. At the holiday village, the pine-forest setting was lovely, the pool was large and well equipped, and the entertainment team and staff were very friendly and professional. The shows and activities were varied and interesting. Special mention to Seb, the archery instructor. We spent 15 days there in a five-person apartment with two adults, a 15-year-old and an 18-year-old. The apartment was worn and could use renovation. There was no air conditioning, which feels poorly suited to the Var rather than Normandy, and there were far too few 220V outlets for a place where everything plugs in in 2025. There were no electric-car charging stations either. Parking was often full in the small area reserved for people with reduced mobility and other priority groups, especially in the evening, and there weren’t enough loungers around the pool.
