Les Balcons du Sauze

Nicolas, the VTF activities coordinator at Sauze, brought so much energy to the activities. They were fun, welcoming, and worked for everyone. He was kind, attentive, and cheerful, and made it easy for people to feel at home. The whole VTF team was warm and welcoming too. Thanks to Nicolas, our stay felt extra memorable. Well done, and thanks again, Ricolaaaa!

The food was delicious, and the staff made us feel very welcome. They were attentive and full of energy. We had an excellent stay!

The location is ideal, right by the slopes, with a T-bar lift giving direct access to the ski area and great southern exposure. We also really enjoyed the food all week, and Sylvain put a lot of heart into organizing activities every day. The manager was attentive and experienced, and gave a very clear introduction to the place when we arrived. One thing to know is the noise from the snow cannons. In south-facing rooms overlooking the resort, they produce a significant hum, around 50 decibels compared with 30 when they're off. During our seven-night stay, they ran from 8 pm to 8 am on three nights. We were lucky that the temperatures kept them off the other four nights. Since we were struggling to sleep, the manager arranged for a technician to fit wooden battens around the bay window so it would shut properly. She also offered us a room on the other side of the building, which was very helpful.

The little plates are a smart way to cut down on food waste, and the meals were very good. Staff were friendly, and I appreciated that someone asked children not to run or shout in the shared areas. It didn't seem to change much, though, since some parents still let them carry on. The manager was lovely, and I'll definitely come back. The downside was the snow groomer passing under the windows around 10 or 11 pm every night. It was incredibly loud just as we were trying to fall asleep.
