Chambre d'hotes la cafranne

Foxes, deer, and wild hares made this a great spot for us as wildlife lovers. Gîte de la Cafranne is tucked into nature, with lovely walks nearby and a real sense of peace. It’s the kind of place where you can switch off and recharge. The gîte is roomy and comfortable, with excellent beds and a kitchen that has all you could need. Cell phone reception is good, too. Town and its shops are about a 20-minute drive away, and there are some real restaurant gems in the region. The hosts were attentive, available, and quick to respond. We’ll definitely come back.

We reached the Tendon waterfalls by a hiking trail from the cottage. It’s a good location for that, and we had a great chance to recharge with friends in a green setting. There were two couples, one with a young child. Everything was ready for our arrival, including made-up beds. The cottage is high quality, well equipped, and the owners are very attentive.

We had a truly magical weekend. Amandine and her husband, the young owners, were friendly and accommodating, and the whole cottage was clean, comfortable, and a pleasure to stay in. The wood-burning stove and firewood were a lovely bonus. Outside was inviting too, especially the courtyard lights, which came on with motion detection and were much appreciated when walking the dog in the evening. The walk to the large Tendon waterfall takes a little over an hour, and you don’t have to be especially athletic to manage it. Remiremont is only 20 minutes away, with its fabulous Venetian Carnival.
