The owner was pleasant, but for the service we received, this place is overpriced. We paid 200€ for one bedroom with our four-month-old baby. We arrived at 8:30pm and were told the kitchen would close at 9, so we ordered a tray to eat in the room. It came with a starter, bread, wine and water, but no appetizer or dessert. The baby's bed was old and uncomfortable, and the A/C was far from accurate. Welcome to the South of France in July!

The staff were awful, rude and unprofessional, and even threatening. From the moment you arrive, they make you feel unwelcome. The amenities are very basic, with cheap toiletries and small towels. This definitely doesn’t feel like a 3-star place. Avoid it.

Our company had its Christmas dinner at the restaurant, and it was magnificent. The courses were delicious, and the service was very professional. They also decorated our area to give it a festive Christmas feel.

This was back in September 1999, when three of us stayed one night in Thoronet, probably on September 3-4. I can’t be sure it was this hotel, since a lot can change over time, but from the reviews I read recently, I think it may have been. It was near the old church, though there were no signs showing where the place was. I remember going down from an old square, probably with an old church above it, and booking a hotel on a small street to the right. I thought breakfast was included, then paid 70 French francs for a small glass of juice and a little painriche without butter. It was a terrible experience, and I still remember it. Check beforehand what’s included and whether breakfast is any good. These days we have INTERNET, so I’d recommend using it. I saw other places in the small town of Le Thoronet offering rooms for 40 euro. Take one and enjoy breakfast.
