Hôtel Equinoxe

They treated us like royalty, and the double bed with ensuite was fantastic. The sea is just 2 minutes away, with good bars and food about 4 minutes away. Absolutely top-notch, highly recommend 👍

The location is good, breakfast was okay, and the staff were very friendly. The room was clean, but room 21 was probably the smallest hotel room I’ve ever seen. The hotel is in a very old building, and the standard room was incredibly small. Its bathroom looked more like a wardrobe, which really wasn’t what I expected. It was poor value for money, and the minimum card payment of 25€ was absurd. In 2018, there shouldn’t be a minimum for paying by card. It’s really not customer friendly. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel, especially if you’re claustrophobic and end up in room 21.

I made the booking for a weekend away in Le Touquet, but got the date wrong and reserved the very next day instead of the following Saturday and Sunday. I contacted the hotel the next morning to explain, but they refused to change the booking and we lost our money. It was my mistake and they were entitled to handle it that way, but it was frustrating since the error was obvious and I notified them quickly. We already had bookings at Perrard and other venues for the weekend we meant to visit. We’ve been coming to Le Touquet for over 40 years. It’s a lovely place, and the locals have always been welcoming and helpful. I hadn’t encountered that sort of unhelpful attitude from a local hotelier before, and it doesn’t represent Le Touquet generally. Luckily, we found another hotel with better reviews for the next weekend. We obviously won’t stay at the Hôtel de sans charme Equinoxe again.

The host was lovely and very helpful, with a map and advice on things to do locally. The hotel itself is pretty standard. If you stay on the 1st floor, it can be noisy in the morning since you hear the breakfast room easily, and they can hear you too...
