The hotel's poor condition really lets it down, despite how friendly the staff are. It needs urgent renovations: the carpets are stained, the windows are very old, and there's no soundproofing or internet access. Staff said only one room has been renovated, the one shown in the photos.

The staff were welcoming and helpful, and there is some style to the place, but much work needs doing. I stayed one night on the Saturday of the music festival. The elevator felt dangerous, and seemed to be a goods lift. The rooms and corridors need redesigning and are still in their original state. There were cracks in the breakfast room ceiling, too.
