Villa Louvre Lens

The room was so bad that we left after ten minutes, at 9 PM, and had to scramble to find somewhere else to sleep. There were blood stains on the bedding, toenails and dust in it, thick dust and cobwebs around the room, stains on the floor, and dirty walls and mirrors. The bathroom was dirty and damp-smelling, with mold and hair on the appliances. Getting there was a struggle too. The hosts don’t speak English, despite claiming to be bilingual, so getting directions and checking in were difficult, and check-in was entirely in French. We had to park streets away. They also charged us an extra fee over an “Expedia issue” even though we’d already paid. I emailed the owner in French because she isn’t bilingual, but got no reply. She doesn’t live on-site, which might explain the state of the property. I reported it all to Expedia and sent photos showing how different it was from the listing. Since the owner wouldn’t communicate or speak English, Expedia couldn’t get us a refund and offered only a £25 credit. I refused it, and I won’t book with Expedia again.

The suite was roomy enough to feel comfortable, and the staff were friendly and lovely. There were full services, and I’d suggest it for either a short or a long stay. One of the best places to stay in Lens.
