La Gentilhommiere

The children loved the garden and its games, even in the cold, and everyone enjoyed seeing the animals on walks nearby. Our family had a really good stay in this spacious, comfortable, well-equipped gite. With so many bedrooms and bathrooms, nobody felt crowded. Valérie and Pieter welcomed us warmly, and Pieter’s kindness made the fouées-making evening a hit with both kids and adults. The Christmas decorations made the house even more beautiful. We had a wonderful time at La Gentilhommière. The owners welcomed us warmly, and the cottages were spotless, well equipped, and well placed for a day of sightseeing. Pieter and Valérie shared great tips for visits, and we especially enjoyed the lovely evening making fouées together. We’ll recommend the cottages to everyone we know, and maybe we’ll be back soon!

The kids had a great time helping Pieter make fouées during our fantastic family weekend. The cottage was clean, spacious, and very well maintained. Highly recommended!

The beautiful surroundings and friendly animals were the one bright spot, but we were very disappointed with the stay. The house wasn’t cleaned properly, the jacuzzi felt unsanitary, and the rules were far too strict. As a family with children, we felt completely unwelcome. A child damaged a small IKEA children’s table that cost €10, and we were charged an exorbitant amount. The host deliberately ordered a more expensive one from another store for €33.90, even though we’d said the original price was enough. Her chat messages were rude, derogatory, and completely unprofessional. There was also confusion about checkout time compared with what the Airbnb app said, and I got a rude reply. We shouldn’t have had to explain our arrival time just because our friends arrived before us. The host was sarcastic about insisting we shop for a replacement children’s table during our vacation, and said a deposit was required for it. With the host’s unfriendly behavior and these strict, unreasonable rules, I absolutely wouldn’t recommend this stay to families with children.
