June 2025: We’ve been coming back for a few days each year, and still love this charming B&B. The garden is lovely and enclosed, with a beautiful pool, and the setting is peaceful. It’s also a really good place to base yourself for exploring the region.

The calm here made it easy to relax, and it’s a handy base for short trips around the region, including Chinon, Tours and Abbaye Fontevraud. The hosts are warm and welcoming, with plenty of good activity tips. We also enjoyed the newly opened restaurant L’office in Lerne, just a short walk away. The Clos itself has a rich history, and the hosts made our stay feel special.

The breakfast tableware was beautiful, and we were especially taken with the antique sheets, which we’d never seen anywhere else. The house and garden are lovely, and the place is wonderfully quiet. Our hosts were warm, discreet, and full of helpful advice. It all has that elegant château feel you find throughout this magnificent region.

We stopped in Touraine on the way to our holiday destination and were glad we did. Jean Claude and Moah were attentive to our comfort, and breakfast was superb, especially the delicious homemade yogurt. The historic guesthouse was exceptional, and our room was both comfortable and very clean. We appreciated having bathrobes in the bathroom and separate ones for the pool. Highly recommended.

At Clos Chavigny, the quiet and serenity are the draw, along with the chance to meet charming hosts who give you your privacy. It feels nothing like a hotel with bars, crowds, and an impersonal atmosphere.
