We were in the area for the Vendée Globe festivities in Les Sables D'Olonnes, and this hotel cost much less than the places there. It’s a modest budget hotel in an industrial area just off the motorway, but it’s easy to find and there’s plenty of parking. The staff were nice, and everything was scrupulously clean. Our room wasn’t huge, though we had a nice one facing away from the street and motorway. The mattress was comfortable, and the toilet and shower room were clean and well maintained. The only thing I’d fault was the towels, which felt a bit stiff from frequent laundering. There’s also a good pizza place next door if you want dinner.

We had a clean, quiet room, and even though the hotel faces a busy road, we couldn’t hear it inside. Celine welcomed me in the evening with a smile, was professional and charming, and gave helpful advice about nearby restaurants. Breakfast is simple, with a good selection. The hotel is a bit far from Sables, though it’s a 20-minute walk to the town center in the morning. I’d recommend staying here.
