The welcome was warm and friendly. Excellent restaurant, with refined, high-quality food.

We were three and ordered everything à la carte after choosing this place based on the good reviews. Honestly, it didn’t deserve even 3 out of 5. The foie gras portion needed to be either a thicker slice or two regular ones. The sirloin, less than a centimeter thick, was closer to carpaccio than a proper steak, and its sauce was bland. The lemonade was said to be from late 2023, despite it being July 2024. We skipped dessert because we were worried that would disappoint too.

The meal for two came to 70 euros and wasn’t very digestible. The atmosphere felt cold, and the staff weren’t welcoming. My Périgord salad arrived after nearly 40 minutes on a small dessert plate, with just 2 tiny salad leaves, 3 potato wedges, and not much else, yet it cost 15 euros!!!! The rest of the meal was okay. We mentioned the issue to the waiter, who barely spoke and had no reassuring response beyond, “I told the chef...”

The food is succulent and refined, and the portions are generous. The wines are delicious too, and the value for money is excellent. There’s an understated old-world charm here with a distinctly British touch. Don’t miss this essential stop in Les Andelys!

I booked a table for a group and was amazed by how good the welcome and service were. The food was delicious, and the value for money excellent. I highly recommend it.
