We stayed in a ground-floor flat with two bedrooms and a huge terrace that felt like an extension of the house. I loved having coffee there each morning while looking out at the lake. The kitchen had every utensil we needed, plus salt and pepper, and we cooked on four or five of our nights. Eating with that view was a pleasure. Maison du Lac is so peaceful, with the sound of water from the lake adding to the calm. The gardens are beautifully kept and clearly cared for. There’s a lovely wooden playhouse for kids, a pair of swings, and a very nice swimming pool. Avignon is close, a comfortable 30-35 minute walk. We’re already looking forward to another relaxing stay. We’ve already had three holidays at Maison du Lac and are sure we’ll be back. Les Angles works really well as a base for trips, with bakeries, supermarkets and pharmacies only a few minutes away by car. The apartments are beautifully furnished and feel very high quality, and the pool is lovely. We especially like coming around Pentecost, when the jasmine is flowering and its scent fills the air. In the evening, the large koi pond makes a beautiful backdrop.

My first-floor apartment at Maison du Lac had everything I needed, plus a lovely balcony looking over the gardens. The grounds and pool were beautiful, and it was easy to enjoy the quiet there. The location felt private and almost countryside-like, even though it’s in a residential area, and the secure parking was useful. Peter was friendly and available whenever I needed something. It’s handy for the lovely nearby towns, though having a car is probably best. I walked to Avignon and back one day, and there are buses nearby that go straight into Avignon, where you can connect to other towns and villages in Provence. I had a really relaxing week there in August.

Peter made us feel welcome with a bottle of wine, plenty of recommendations and a hand with our luggage. We stayed in the one-bedroom unit, which had a separate sitting room, two bathrooms, a small but practical kitchen and a large balcony overlooking the pond. It was a peaceful spot with everything we needed to relax, and a great place to stay.

The gardens were lovely, and the apartment was well kept. It’s a quiet, convenient base for exploring the area. We enjoyed our stay at Maisie du Lac and would happily come back. I’d recommend it.
