The only thing we wished we'd done was book another night. Gregoire is a wonderful cook and just as charming and sociable as a host. His house sits near the top of a hill, with lovely views across rural Haut Beaujolais. We took a fantastic, steep walk into the woods from the house when we arrived, which came in handy after all the food we ate later.

The house is beautiful, set among the hills, with a lovely atmosphere and a welcoming family. There are games out for children and a pool down below. Gregoire replied quickly to my first enquiry, was kind and thoughtful about our bringing a 5-year-old to such a peaceful place, and made the reservation easy. We enjoyed a swim, an incredible meal, and a comfortable night's sleep. It's an old family country house, so the sound insulation is limited. We had to keep that in mind with our child, and we could clearly hear the people upstairs moving around their room. That was a small drawback in an otherwise nearly perfect stay. We'll definitely return.
