Résidence Chalet des Neiges Hermine

We were two families traveling with a big group of young children and teenagers, and loved having a spacious apartment where we could all gather. Maïwenn deserves a special thank you for her help, and the service was excellent. We enjoyed the pool and whirlpool. The free shuttle stop is just down the street, which made getting around easier, especially with our youngest ones.

I was genuinely very unhappy with our stay. It’s about a 30-minute walk back from the main lift area, and the rooms have big wooden beams across them. We all hit our heads several times, and one friend ended up concussed. Reception was rarely open at convenient times. There was no Wi-Fi, and the TV didn’t work, even though reception said they’d fix it. They also didn’t provide enough toilet paper or cleaning products.

The ski lockers were excellent, spacious enough for all our gear and easy to reach from the accommodation. The balcony views were stunning, like a picture. Inside, the room was a good size, with a decent kitchen area and en suite bedrooms. The furniture and fittings in the bedrooms were tired and could do with refurbishment, and there could have been more lighting. For our family of four, storage was limited, so we partly lived out of our suitcases alongside the small units. Getting there was confusing because the accommodation name wasn’t clear from outside, and the steep hill was hard with heavy bags. Luckily our teenage children could help. A friendly receptionist showed us where our room was. The narrow passages and many steps also make access unsuitable for people with physical needs.

The welcome was warm, and the staff were friendly. Having ski rental in the building was handy, too. But the apartment felt tired, especially the furniture, and the whole place needs freshening up. It’s a small place, and the walk to the slopes is around 300 m, which feels like a lot given the price. We also had residents making noise late at night and playing loud music in shared areas, including by the pool. We found it overpriced for its condition and location.
