What stays with me most is the feeling that you and the hostess become friends right away, and how timeless the whole place feels. Catherine Desmet makes you feel so welcome. There are stories everywhere, from the ancient library collection to the moat and fruit trees, and the entrance lane is breathtaking. Inside and out, the chateau is beautiful, with period furnishings, lovely casement windows, and perfumes and bath products. The traditional French breakfast was incredibly generous and delicious, and there’s a private pool too. It feels like a fairytale, honestly.
