The owners were so friendly and welcoming, and we had a superb stay at this gîte. Highly recommended!

We had a lovely stay in August 2025 with our two dogs. The welcome was warm, the weather splendid and there were plenty of places to visit. We’re delighted and hope to see you next year. I highly recommend this little paradise. Thank you for your kindness.
Such a cozy cottage in the heart of the fascinating Vézère Valley. I had an excellent stay and will be back!
The meadow down to the tiny river was regularly maintained, and the swimming pool was adequate and clean. There’s only one pool, despite what Bookink says; the other, meant for children, is dilapidated. The PVC furniture is old and leaves white marks on clothes. These were small bright spots in a stay at "Le Fenil", the section my review concerns, as there are two other rentals. We’d expected the pleasant gîte described on Booking.com, but after arriving five minutes late, there was nobody to greet us and the key was in the door. The bulky items by the parking area and the badly neglected "park", with weeds and overgrown plants, made a poor first impression. Inside was adequate, with only the bare essentials for dishes. The upstairs bedroom, reached by a very steep staircase, seemed comfortable apart from the high temperature and a loose window frame. The outdoor dining area was unusable: no shade, worn furniture and a nearly useless parasol, right beside the busy Les Eyzies – Sarlat road, with trucks and motorcycles passing. The hosts set up another eating spot 100 meters away to address this, but it had the same all-day sun, so don't forget the salt! The television was the worst part, postcard-sized, with no French channels. The hosts said that since most guests are British they saw no point in providing French channels, and suggested using personal cell phones. The same attitude applied to the general and specific instructions. I found it profoundly disrespectful. The place is far from the village, noisy and poorly maintained. The tourist office accreditation seems to date from when the establishment was created and has probably never been checked. Definitely don't come in the off-season, as there is no fixed heating. At approximately €140 per day, the price seems unjustified for such poor service.
A friendly place with really welcoming owners. I highly recommend it. 👍
