Chalet Bluebell

I stayed here for a short visit in early August with a family member, and it was perfect. The owners were wonderful and did everything they could to look after us, even though we weren’t there long. Thanks for taking care of us.

The chalet has a beautiful, relaxed and social feel, and it was easy to unwind and meet other guests. Everything from the cosy rooms to the delicious food was top-notch, a great mix of comfort and luxury. Jane and her staff were especially helpful to me as someone fairly new to skiing. They can show you around the slopes if you don’t know the area, and, if you’re lucky, take you to the quieter ‘local’s’ mountain. The chalet chef even took me skiing on his day off. I only wish I’d stayed longer, and I’ll definitely be back!

The chalet made a big group trip feel easy. We were 17 people travelling from the US for a week, and Jane, Rob and the rest of the staff helped us make the most of it from arrival through our goodbyes. Jane had done a lot of planning with us beforehand, and the team helped arrange restaurants and rentals, picked up our ski passes so we could start early, and offered to show us good runs since we didn’t know the area. We hit a bit of a dry spell, but still got in good skiing thanks to rides from Chalet Bluebell to Morzine, where we could quickly get up to higher, snowier Avoriaz. That was invaluable for getting where we wanted to go. Meals were top-notch: three-course dinners, full breakfast spreads and lovely baked goods at afternoon tea. We were always stuffed. When our group gets together in the US, we usually get takeout or make simple meals at home, and after this experience, I’m not sure we could go back to that. The rooms were great too, with comfortable beds, clean bathrooms and restful nights. There’s a hot tub, a sitting room for games and casting photos and videos from the day to the TV, laundry facilities, and a fully stocked honor bar for drinks outside mealtimes.

Our group of 17 adults spent a week at Chalet Bluebell. It was our first catered chalet, after hotels, Airbnb and VRBO, and I wish I were waking up there today to a freshly cooked breakfast, lovely Alpine views and our friendly hosts. Jane, Robert, Grace, Emma, Lily, Alex, Andy, Nick and Dale were all wonderful. They sorted airport transfers, lift passes, daily rides to the ski resorts, snowshoeing and dinner bookings for the two nights Chef Alex was off duty. They also shared tips for Les Gets, Portes Du Soleil and Geneva. It’s walkable or a short drive to Les Gets skiing, and about 15 minutes to Avoriaz or Morzine. On our first ski day, Robert and Andy showed us around Avoriaz. Having meals and transport handled took away the planning and logistics we’d normally manage ourselves, which can be a lot with 17 to 20+ people. One person in our group had a birthday, and Jane thoughtfully arranged a cake and decorative banner.
