Waking up to the balcony view was lovely, and the location worked really well. It’s a short walk to Alpe Express, which takes you up to the ski lifts. The place is warm and had what we needed. It’s clearly dated and could use renovation, but that’s part of why it’s affordable. People expecting a five-star stay at a budget price are going to be disappointed. We were four in an apartment meant for five, and it already felt cramped, so I wouldn’t recommend it for five. Bring your own sheets and blankets if you can. We usually do when driving, and I was glad we had ours because the duvets smelled so bad I bagged them up and put them under the bed for the whole stay. Still, we had a really enjoyable time.
The apartment felt cramped, uncomfortable, and neglected. It was also dirty: the carpets were filthy, and there was years’ worth of grime in the gap between the bed and the wall. They charged a cleaning fee we hadn’t asked for, and the equipment provided didn’t work. Easily the worst place I’ve ever had the displeasure of staying.
The furniture, tableware, and cleaning were all unacceptable. I also thought the hot water cylinder mounted on the bathroom ceiling was a serious safety risk. Renting an apartment like this is not acceptable. One day, I expect we’ll see bad news in the papers about this residence, Maeva, and Pierre Vancances!
The location was good and the price was okay. The room had a microwave and a small kitchen, and having a dishwasher with tablets was handy. But it really didn’t work for four people. There were four of us, including one couple, and the main room had no door. The bedroom air felt especially bad, like there wasn’t enough oxygen, so we kept opening the door. The bathroom had a stale, old smell too, as if it only got the necessary cleaning. We had hardly anywhere to charge our phones, and had to make our own beds and take out the rubbish. That was a first for us. It was also difficult to get by as tourists. If every country were like France, global communication would be so poor that there’d be no tourists anywhere. I’ve not stayed in many countries or hotels, though, so that’s where my limited experience comes from.
Decent rooms for the price. The shared hallway and ski room felt a bit shabby and weren’t very clean. It’s a good budget place to stay with friends, though I’d pick somewhere else for a romantic ski trip with my girlfriend.
