The cosy Alpine feel made me feel very welcome, and I had a good stay. The staff were warm and helpful, always happy to stop for a quick chat. Breakfast was good, with a great selection of organic teas. Definitely recommend it.

The room heating kept us awake all night on our second night. The room next door had been empty the first night, but someone occupied it the next night and turned on the heat, or perhaps somebody else did. I don’t know. We could hear the central heating unit, probably in the basement, constantly bubbling and buzzing through the pipes. The extra costs were also frustrating and never felt fully clear. We paid €210 for two nights with breakfast, which seemed okay for a two-star hotel at this resort, then €18 in city tax at check-in. At checkout they asked for the city tax again, plus €35 for our dog. I challenged the tax and we found the mistake, but the dog charge still left the total at €263 for two off-season nights. The booking website says extra charges may apply, so we paid, but the policy didn’t make the dog fee clear. What if they’d asked for €100? I don’t like being treated like a wallet. You can find an apartment for €500 for five days. The staff were welcoming and polite, and breakfast was okay. But for that money, this felt like a bed-and-breakfast stay, and we didn’t sleep.

Danski’s staff were great, and the location is excellent, but the hotel is worn and really noisy. The bedrooms and bathrooms are very small.

There’s easy access to the nearby fitness area, where entry is affordable, and there’s an outdoor pool with a mountain view. The hotel itself doesn’t offer much luxury, but the surroundings are charming. It’s in an excellent spot, and the staff are keen to help.
