We had a really great stay, and all the staff were amazing, friendly, and helpful. The rooms are nice, with balconies looking toward Mont Blanc, and the pool is good. It's a lovely hotel to use as a base for skiing or exploring. Dinner at the restaurant was nice, and breakfast was simple and just right. My small grumble is that the bacon could have been crispier. The bar area is lovely, but sometimes it felt as if we'd wait forever for someone to come over. A bell or another way to get the staff's attention would help, and I think the bar would be busier if it were easier to order. Also, surely a French beer on tap is essential? Even so, we'd definitely return.

The room was excellent and clean, and the hotel is close to a bus stop, making it easy to reach le houches and Chamonix center. There's ski storage, and a supermarket nearby. One drawback was arriving late. The entrance is locked from 8pm, and when I got there late I couldn't get in. Let the hotel staff know if you'll be arriving after that.

We had a great stay at HDB. The team gave us a warm welcome, then ran a great kick-off meeting for the Ski Gathering. Our room was very good, with a new bathroom, a bath, and plenty of hot water. We needed the lifts they gave us to and from the slopes every day. There's a really helpful ski shop opposite, the food was great every night, and breakfast was a sumptuous buffet.

I live nearby and often pop into Chalet Hôtel du Bois to work at the bar for a while. It has a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere, and the staff and space are lovely. A really nice place to spend time, and easy to recommend if you're around.

It’s easy to get to the shops and skiing from Hotel du Bois, and the location in Les Houches is great. Ninoo knows the town and its local spots inside out, and was especially helpful in making sure visitors were looked after. The staff are wonderful, and we enjoyed our stay.
