Chalet Hotel Les Campanules

The views of Mont-Blanc were breathtaking and made up for our room being a little old and small. We enjoyed our two nights here, especially the cozy lounge with its fireplace, the freshly made Glühwein, and a nice dinner at the restaurant. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is uphill from the bus stop on the main road, but the tram to Chamonix is closer and more convenient, and our stay included complimentary tram passes.

Dinner was outstanding, and the restaurant team and chef deserve a compliment. We came for a quick three-day break to enjoy the amazing snow in 2026. The new management is renovating during quieter periods, and some areas already look great, giving a sense of what the hotel will be like when finished. Our room wasn't one of those areas, but when we raised the issue with the person we later learned was the owner, they handled it exceptionally well. That service made a real difference. We may have found a little gem here, and I'd like to return.

Martin and his wife were friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable about the area. The hotel has a lovely feel and is good value, with easy access to the Les Houches ski area. It's also a short walk to the train station, which connects you to the many other ski areas in the Chaminix region.

The staff were perfect, and the restaurant food was spectacular. I didn't have a bad time, and I do think people should give this hotel a try. Still, I want to describe a few things that could matter to future guests. The owners are very nice and helpful, and since they're relatively new, I don't necessarily blame them for the minor problems. We paid €15 Euros to use the spa, which seemed like a fair price, but the floor felt dirty and the steam room smelled strongly of mold and mildew as soon as we opened the door. We ended up using only the lovely sauna. Our room carpet was matted and stained in several spots. The shower had no light, and the motion-sensor light over the toilet switched off almost immediately. We could also hear everything clearly through the hallway. If the owner is reading, you're doing great, just a few things need more attention.
