Etretat Aventure

We booked a place for one night after being given wrong information, so we couldn’t stay on the night we’d reserved. They promised us a refund, but now they don’t reply to anything at all!!

The tent had electricity, which was good, and breakfast was okay for such a remote spot. We stayed overnight in a triangle tent and enjoyed the experience, though it got cold and we had to put on extra layers. It might be much better in summer. I found the toilet and shower area too cold to shower in and think it needs updating. I didn’t try the adventure park, but understand it costs extra. It could be an option for a summer camp for kids.

It’s a fun adventure, but feels very expensive for what you get. The tree camp beds don’t come with sheets, and there are no lights or power outlets, so bring a power bank. There’s no lighting along the paths through the campsite at night either. The shared bathroom is used by men and women, has no hair dryer, and the shower only runs for 30 seconds before stopping. When lots of people shower at once, the water doesn’t stay warm.

The tents are roomy, plenty of space if you’re only sleeping there, and the kids had fun with the idea of camping. Activities and the adventure park cost quite a bit for what’s included. The nearby routes aren’t good for hiking or jogging: some are cut off by private property, while others use four-metre-wide unpaved roads where cars go 80 km/h. There were also lots of flies, even inside the tent and in the bathrooms, probably because farms with ducks, chickens and cows are right next to the area.
