The room lacked a shower curtain, cups, a kettle, and even a trash bag, and hygiene felt seriously neglected. The hospitality was a 0/20 for us. My husband and I asked about paying to upgrade to a bigger room, but the receptionist was no help. She just said things like, “What? Why? I can't... I'm not responsible for those rooms...” without giving a valid reason or seeming interested in finding a solution. She wasn't friendly or polite to begin with. Later, we sat in the lobby with some fruit and tea, assuming the hotel might have an anti-waste initiative. She came over in a bossy tone and told us we could do it this time, but there would be sanctions tomorrow. We were taken aback. Were we not allowed to do anything? Why provide plastic cups if guests can't use them to take drinks away? And is hot water off limits too? She told us she'd worked in HORECA for four years. Really? Maybe she was mistaken or completely burnt out. If she'd moved from Mercure to Ibis Styles, with that attitude toward clients, she'll be at a hostel next. Definitely not recommended. Hopefully never again.

The rooms were clean and well organized, and breakfast was very simple. Our night was spoiled by a couple of problems: the room was above an open cafe area, where someone smoked during the night, and the smoke came through our window. Then the electricity went out, shutting off the A/C and stopping our phones from charging. When power returned early in the morning, all the lights came on at once and woke us up.

Good hotel for a competitive price. The staff were excellent, very helpful, attentive, and supportive.

I wouldn't pay more than 30€/night. The bed wasn't very comfortable and the pillow was minimal. There was no heating, the room smelled of smoke, and the bathroom was cold and smelled bad. Breakfast was bland, with old cold eggs whose yolks looked almost rotten. :(
