We spent most of our time outdoors, and the cabins were a good size for our stay. The restaurant was great, with staff who were friendly and helpful. Everyone on staff was very friendly and always ready to help. Bike hire was very cheap too, and we’re thinking of coming back next year.

We loved the privacy, with magical plants and trees all around, and a secluded beach just two minutes away. It’s at the top of the island, away from the bigger crowds, with a cute village a two-minute cycle away. The indoor pool was handy on colder days, and there was loads for the kids to do. Lovely staff, and a great choice for young families. It is a bit expensive, but you’re paying for a lot. Highly recommended.

Le Phare made a lovely base for our holiday on Ile de Re. Lots of the top things to do were an easy cycle away, and our chalet was larger than similar ones we’ve stayed in elsewhere.

Le Phare has a great vibe, with friendly staff and a nice mix of families whose kids ranged from newborns to 18-year-olds. The beach is just a stone’s throw away, and in summer the best daily market is five minutes by bike. We were happy to pay more for the trailer than for a private vacation rental, for the location and the social side for the kids. There’s a 10% fee if you want to choose your spot, though, and we were pretty unhappy with the lucky draw. After two nights we moved to 179, which had the privacy and greenery we’d seen on the website. Thanks to the wonderful reception and restaurant staff for their hospitality.

The staff were wonderfully warm, and the kids loved the facilities. There were four families and 18 of us altogether, and the parents felt comfortable letting the kids roam. We also had a lovely lunch and would highly recommend it.
