The views from the rooms were spectacular, and the air conditioning was essential. The shower over the bath only really reached mid-body and below, and the duvets are small, so be ready for that. There’s plenty of parking, and bikers can use a garage, though we chose to chain our bikes together outside. Given the location, the chance of trouble seemed quite low. Service and location were spot on. The staff were super friendly and helped us along despite our poor attempt at speaking French. The steak was great, but if you order medium, expect rare, and my medium-rare came out blue.

The location was perfect, though the terrace could do with more shade. I slept fairly well, but the mattress had odd lumps and dips and made getting out of bed almost impossible. I’d have preferred a kettle to the unusual coffee maker.

We stopped for lunch at Le Feu au Lac restuarant and really enjoyed it. The service was exceptional, and our food was lovely: my wife had the Linguine Salmon while I chose the Linguinie Gorganzola. I also tried a local dark beer and liked it, which surprised me since craft beer and IPAs usually aren't my thing.

We’ll definitely stay here again when we come back to the area in 2025. The owners were attentive, friendly, and helpful with all our questions about the hotel and around the area. Our meals and drinks were high quality, served by a very friendly waitress on the big terrace overlooking Lac De Saint Croix. The whole place was fantastic, right beside the lake. The hotel is a lovely find, and we’re happy to have found it. Les salles-sur-verdon is beautiful, with gardens at almost every house, and we enjoyed walking around the village. There are pleasant walking paths from the hotel, and they also rent e-bikes. We didn’t get a chance to try the bar or restaurant, so hopefully next time. Our lake-view double room had the balcony we’d requested. It was clean, simple, and comfortable, and we loved watching the lake and clear skies from there. It was cold outside, but we still sat out for the colorful sunrises and sunsets, and spent quiet evenings trying to identify constellations and hoping to spot shooting stars. We arrived very late, past check-in time, and worried we might not be let in. Huge thanks to Jarek at reception, who waited for us and greeted us with a warm smile. We felt at home right away. Breakfast had lots to choose from, including breads, croissants, pains au chocolat, scrambled eggs, and more. The breakfast staff were sweet and helpful, and housekeeping changed the sheets and towels every day. ❤️😊
