Les Jardins De L'Ermitage

We stayed in the Quartz room for one night on our Provence road trip, and would have happily stayed longer if our plans had allowed. The place is gorgeous, stylish and cozy. The woman who runs it was so friendly and helpful, and her restaurant tip led us to one of our best meals in France. Having breakfast outside on a lovely Provençal morning was incredible. A wonderful stay near Gorges du Verdon. I’d definitely recommend Les Cles du Verdon.

The location is lovely, and the staff are friendly. Rooms in typical Provence colors look lovely, with care put into every detail. Breakfast was amazing, especially the homemade jam and yogurts. You can tell as soon as you arrive that it’s a great place to stay. I highly recommend this hotel. Parfait!

The air conditioning didn’t work, and the room was suffocating and smelled of smoke. The owner said it was because it was too hot outside, and there wasn’t another room for us. With flies everywhere, opening the windows wasn’t really an option. There was a heavy smoke smell in the breakfast and reception areas too, and it got into the rooms. The grounds are run down. We’ve stayed in several lovely hotels across France, and this one was a big mistake. Looking at the other reviews, I was perplexed and think they may be for a hotel with the same name attached to a spa down the road.

We arrived late in the evening and were put in a room outside the property, far from the hotel facilities and only reachable by car. There was no Wi-Fi or water, and the room was missing basic features you’d expect at that price. The pool wasn’t even working. This place was nothing like we expected.
