Domaine du Papillon

The setting was wonderfully quiet, and the breakfast was hearty. The hosts were so kind and welcoming. I also really enjoyed the pool, with its deckchairs and mattresses. Thank you.

We spent six peaceful nights as a couple at Domaine du Papillon, and Christoph and Sabine were wonderful hosts. They’re keen to make sure you have what you need, and they shared useful ideas for things to do and places to eat. The pool and loungers were a lovely place to unwind. The accommodation has a stylish country-house feel, and we had a wonderful time there. There are wineries nearby with wines at all sorts of prices, so a chateau visit is a must for wine lovers. A quiet surfing beach is a little over 20 minutes away by car. 🙂

The welcome was relaxed and friendly, with Sabine and Christoph offering us a drink. Our suite was spacious, tastefully done, and very clean. It’s even bigger than our Paris apartment! Breakfast was generous, made with fresh quality ingredients, and the plum jam was incredible. There’s room to relax on the property, including a reading area, and the pool uses salt instead of chlorine. The value for money is excellent. Honestly, if I read a review this glowing, I’d be suspicious too ;)

The grounds are secure, with a lovely park that’s well looked after, and our accommodation was cozy and comfortable. The generous breakfasts were delicious, and we enjoyed chatting with Christophe and Sabine at the table. The owners were warm, pleasant, and multilingual, and their restaurant suggestions led us to some excellent discoveries. One thing I missed was lighting on the facade above the tables for the evening, along with a pool light or a switch to turn it on at night. Thanks again to Sabine and Christophe.
