La Stregheria

The beach is enormous and only 50m away, though the wind can get strong, so you may need to build a creative windbreak. Outside the holiday season, the area is peaceful. I really enjoyed the restaurant at Pension Stregheria, the food was very good and the atmosphere super cool. The rooms are spacious, nicely furnished in an unusual style, and the owners are friendly and helpful. I almost don't want to share this insider tip 😊😀. I'll definitely return to this lovely place!

The ocean view from upstairs was lovely, and the shops are just a minute away. I spent four nights here just before the season began. The hosts are a cool, lovely couple, and their advice helped me explore the landscape. Breakfast was much better than what I normally eat, and it really made the stay. Dogs are welcome too! Double thumbs up!

La Franqui is such a good place to slow down. It still feels unspoilt, relaxed and low key, unlike so much of the Mediterranean coast. I felt as if I'd slipped back a few decades to a happy, elusive hippy time. There's a wide sandy beach, plenty of water sports, and some cool cafes and restaurants. I really hope it never turns into another beach lined with big hotel chains. It feels too special to change. We had a stylish room with cool, clear, comfortable decor and a cute little balcony facing the huge beach and sea. The owners and staff were charming, friendly and welcoming. They were patient with my poor French and encouraged me as I slowly built up my vocabulary. Breakfast was a treat, with fruit, yoghurt, pastries, crusty bread, eggs, bacon or ham, and great coffee. We also ate at the restaurant one evening, and both the menu and food were first class. The atmosphere is relaxed and chilled.

The only real snag was waiting an hour for a parking spot. The room was lovely and just 10 meters from the sea, and the restaurant was excellent, with reasonable prices and top-notch service. The owner was friendly, and the waiter was delightful. This little slice of paradise would be perfect without that parking wait.
