We loved the rooms, the beautiful grounds, the spa, and both restaurants. Each morning started with a gorgeous breakfast delivered to our room, then a visit to the sauna. At the end of the day we’d settle into the cozy bar and lounge for a nightcap by the fire with live music. This was the first of four stops on our trip through France, and it set an incredibly high standard. The concierge helped with our plans before the trip, and every interaction with the spa attendants and dining and bar staff was a 10/10. We hope to return soon.

The rooms unfortunately don’t feel worth the price. Apart from that, the place is incredible, and so is the restaurant. 🙂

The spa was the peaceful retreat we’d hoped the whole stay would be, and the service was impeccable. The concierge deserves a special mention for arranging visits to local wineries and keeping our bottles until departure. The place itself is stunning, and our room was very comfortable. But Room 37 is right above the back kitchen and looks straight onto the bistro’s patio. We arrived at 11:30 p.m. to music, servers talking below the window, and cutlery clinking. We were told things would quiet down between midnight and 1 a.m., but it was hard to relax, and a daytime nap was impossible with lunchtime noise from the bistro. Definitely avoid Room 37, especially in summer, unless you want to follow the bistro’s schedule. If you can, don’t be the last guests to arrive like we were. We’d looked forward to a peaceful getaway, so this one needs rescheduling.
