B&B HOTEL Lille Lezennes Grand Stade

After a long day delayed on a ferry that couldn't leave Dover port, we got in late. Booking and check-in were simple, and the staff were helpful. Breakfast was really good too. We're B&B Hotels converts now.

The location near the stadium was the one useful thing, but it wasn't worth the trouble. I paid around €260 a night and still slept badly because the mattress was uncomfortable and there was no AC. The pillows weren't comfortable either, and when I finally found a staff member and asked for extras, they said it wasn't possible. I had to email head office, and it took two days before they did anything. The room was dusty and dirty, and it clearly hadn't been vacuumed. To request cleaning, you had to tell reception, but reception didn't open until 5pm, so I couldn't get help when I needed it. Check-in was no better: a queue of people were struggling with a single machine, and no staff were there to welcome anyone or help. There was no hospitality at all from the start. Avoid this place. 2/10.

The general feel of the place was poor, and so was the cleanliness. When issues came up, there was little response.

Getting in became a problem when the online entry system stopped working, leaving six couples or groups locked out. Someone eventually arrived to let us all in. There's no reception desk, though the staff were very helpful once present. The room itself was small but very clean, and well placed for the stadium. Digital check-in really isn't the way forward.
