Gite la Maison de la Pimpine Lignan de Bordeaux

The gite de la Pimpine really does feel like home.

Franck was really friendly, and the location worked well for visiting Bordeaux. The garden is lovely and spacious, and there’s a nice terrace with a plancha. Still, the pool was a real letdown: although the garden belonging to the owners is beautiful, the Booking listing made it look like the pool would be private. In reality, you're right in front of the owners and their visitors. The beds, kitchen setup, and cleanliness could all be better. The rooms are under the roof and get hot, so I don't think it’s good value for the price. Better places are available for the same money.

We spent a wonderful weekend in this cottage. The hosts were warm and lovely, and the large garden and pleasant terrace made for a nice stay. It’s directly across from the entrance to Château de la Ligne, so if you need somewhere in the area, this is a good option.

The house and garden are very pleasant, but several things made the short stay difficult. After our six-hour drive, the owner, who lives next door, was pushy and inflexible about money. There’s no Wi-Fi, and the phone signal inside is unreliable. A pool is there, but the owner didn’t seem keen to let us use it. We only learned the checkout time very late, just 30 minutes before we had to leave. It was a lot to deal with during a stay of less than 48 hours.
