The only decent thing about this motel was that the people were nice. Otherwise it was filthy and felt sketchy. We found pubic hair all over the bathroom walls and under our sheets. Friends in another room had cat shit splattered on their walls, and another friend found blood splatters in their room. One friend’s door handle broke as soon as they opened the door. The beds were hard and springy.

The location worked well for our appointment at the nearby hospital. But the walls are very thin, and we could hear everything next door. People there talked loudly at 2 a.m. and ruined our stay. Smokers standing outside our room also meant we could smell it inside.

We got what we wanted for a weekend watching some racing, cheap and cheerful. The room was basic, breakfast decent, beer good, car park safe, and beds firm. The one issue was water escaping under the shower seal and spreading across the floor.

The rooms have always been clean and pleasant on our previous stays, and having parking on site is handy. This visit was different, though. Some hotel residents set off fireworks in the car park early in the morning and late at night, and the security guard let it happen. Really disappointing.

We found the staff friendly and helpful, and breakfast had a good range of choices. The restaurant was closed, so there was no dinner available. The hotel was clean and had what we needed for one night. They also lock the car park around 11 pm, which felt reassuring.
