I drop in now and then, whether for a late dinner or brunch, and brunch was spot on today. The plates balance healthy choices with thoughtful ingredients, local and traditional cooking, and a little exotic influence. After a few savory bites, I moved from fresh juice to a light white wine, then from pancakes still warm to homemade pear yogurt. It’s also a lovely place to explore French wines beyond the big familiar labels. The people running it clearly care about their work.

Breakfast was included, and the city is easy to explore on foot. My room, the Belfry, looked onto the bistro courtyard, but I never found it noisy. One evening I even opened both windows and sat listening to the sounds outside. It’s a very cute place above a beautiful bistro, with just four individual loft-style rooms. The bed was clean and comfortable, the shower was good, and there was a fan. I had everything I needed for a comfortable little stay and would definitely come back. Thanks to the team!

Book ahead for this intimate little restaurant. We did, and they had to turn quite a few people away. The wine list was good, and I still can’t pick a favorite among all the memorable dishes: the tomato tostada, cucumber soup with trout eggs, or chocolate mousse. The chef was warm and took time to explain the dishes despite our limited French.
