Flandres Appart Hôtel

We booked an apartment for three people, with a double bed in one room and a sofa bed in the living room. The sofa bed was filthy, covered in stains and hairs. They hadn’t even opened it to check its condition, despite someone being expected to sleep there. We called to say we wouldn’t stay and asked for a refund, but they refused. Disgraceful.

I’d give zero stars if I could. I arrived in Lille around 6 PM on 3 Oct and spent two hours trying to find the apartment. There was no sign at all. I called using the number in my email, but they couldn’t help because they didn’t know English well and had a poor network connection, which they acknowledged by SMS. I was new to Lille, stranded in the evening, and without language support. After two fruitless hours, we booked another apartment and moved in because it was getting late. Being stuck in an unfamiliar place caused me a lot of stress. The property also refused to refund the booking fee. Please put up a large sign and have English-speaking staff available for international tourists.

The room had been set up for two, even though we’d said there would be three of us. Apart from that, the hotel felt very modern, like it had just been refurbished, and it was clean and comfortable.

A clean, modern apartment with great amenities and a convenient location. A really nice place to stay in Lille.
