Mister Bed Lomme

I stayed at Mr Bet Hotel from December 25 to December 27, and couldn't get any rest because it was extremely loud. The bedsheets were dirty, and the room keys didn't work properly. On the morning I left, people were shouting on the floor too, adding to the chaos. It didn't meet even basic standards. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, peaceful, or hassle-free stay.

I was bitten several times by bed bugs during my stay on 20 August 2024. The bites itched for days, and the experience was repulsive. To me, it suggested the hotel had no hygiene standards. I was booked to return a week later, but cancelled because I didn't want another round of bites. I contacted the hotel directly and through Agoda, the booking agent, but got no acknowledgement or reply, and of course no refund for the cancelled room. I'm an experienced third-world traveller, usually tolerant and easy-going, and I don't normally write reviews. This time I felt I had to say something. Stay at your own risk. I also tried to post this on Agoda's site. After several weeks of being fobbed off, they replied, "We are unable to publish the review that you submitted (the one above) as it doesn't comply our Agoda Review Guidelines." Disappointing, but who are Agoda's customers?

The staff are friendly and helpful, parking is easy and free, breakfast is included, and it's cheap. The location isn't too bad either, near a large retail estate. That's about all I can say for the good points. The rooms are small and poorly equipped, with a tiny portaloo-sized bathroom where you have to move carefully around the toilet, sink, and shower. The shower overflows. There's also some kind of airlock that groans loudly almost every 30 minutes, all day and night. The whole building smells strongly of tobacco and bleach. Breakfast is croissants, French stick, cereal, maybe a yoghurt, orange juice, and coffee. There are no plates, so you eat off a plastic tray. If you only need a base and can live with all that, it may be OK, but I wouldn't recommend it. The hotel needs a major overhaul to meet standard.

The breakfast was the surprise, much better than I expected, with baguettes and croissants that tasted really fresh. It's good value for money, but the room is so small I wouldn't want to stay more than one night.
