Premiere Classe Lille Est - Villeneuve D'Ascq Leze

We used the place as a base for visiting France and Belgium, and the rooms were just right for a short stay. There was wardrobe space, and the bed was comfy and clean. The bathroom is a very small pod with a toilet, sink and shower, but it had wall-mounted hand wash, and clean towels were provided each day during our two nights. There’s secure gated parking on site, and it’s free. We got a 10% off voucher for the restaurant across the road. We enjoyed the meal there, and it has its own brewery with a great range of local beers. It was good value too, about 30 euros per person for two courses, coffee and drinks. At 30 euros a night for two people, this is incredible value. I can’t fault it and would definitely stay again.

This was honestly the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Both rooms we booked as a family smelled of cigarette smoke, even though nobody in our family smokes. The hygiene was awful. There were dead and live bugs in the top bunks, the sheets in every bed were dirty and hadn’t been changed since the previous guest, and none of the pillows had covers. I asked reception to clean the sheets. They wrote it down, but when we returned later that day, nothing had been changed. The toilet rooms were so bad I had to buy cleaning products and clean them myself. We often had to leave the door open just to get fresh air. I don’t know what the staff do beyond sitting around smoking and cleaning outside the rooms. If they really clean the rooms and they still end up like this, who knows what their homes look like. I hated this hotel and won’t ever come back. After sleepless nights, I was relieved to leave. I’d strongly advise against staying here. The only good thing was the big shops nearby, where I could escape the smelly room.

Check-in was easy, and I had to sign that I’d be charged a 75euro fine for smoking in the room. I thought there was still a cigarette smell in there, though. Once home, I found that all my clothes, including my coat, smelled of smoke and need washing. :-(

I stayed for 9 nights and got exactly what I wanted: a room with a bed and bathroom. For the price, what more would you expect? It’s in a great spot, with food and alcohol nearby and an Aldi's right across the street. I’d stay here again if I come back.
