Check-in was easy and the staff were friendly. Secure underground parking was €5 a day. The room was clean but basic, with no hand soap, fridge or tea and coffee. The shower was hot and had shower gel, though there wasn’t enough toilet paper. It was very warm in the room even in October, and the air conditioning didn’t work, so I had to leave the window open. That meant the car park floodlights were a problem. With the window shut and blind down, though, it was very quiet, and I didn’t hear other guests. The noon checkout was a nice bonus. Fine for a night or two.

The four of us had a great stay, and the room suited us well. Breakfast was lovely, and the woman at reception was kind and especially attentive there, even though we came down quite late and she was on her own. The hotel was easy to find, with free parking behind it, and the location worked well for the city. The only thing I missed was a mini fridge, like the one we had at the B & B hotel in Dieppe.

The hotel feels quite new, and my room was comfortable and peaceful. I’d worried about hearing the station, but it was very quiet. There are several good bars and restaurants just a short walk away. Check-in took far too long. This seems to affect other B&B hotels too. At busy times, from 18.00 to 20.00, they need a faster process or more staff.

Right beside the train station, this is a small, simple hotel with compact rooms and fantastic showers. Breakfast is a help-yourself spread of croissants, pain au chocolat, cheese, ham and bread, among other things, and you can take as much or as little as you want.
