ibis Styles Limoges Centre

After my train was delayed, I arrived at 10 PM and got very poor service at the front desk. The receptionist was on a call and didn't acknowledge me promptly. Once he'd finished, he started typing on his laptop and only said several minutes later that he had to enter data. He showed little courtesy throughout, with no smile or eye contact. As an Accor member, I'm deeply disappointed. This falls well below what I'd expect from an established hotel chain.

The rooms were clean and spacious, and the hot and cold breakfast buffet was superb. I especially liked the fresh OJ machine. Cold water and hot drinks are available all the time from machines in the lounge, since there are no drink facilities in the rooms. The hotel has a great restaurant for dinner, which helps as there aren't many restaurants nearby. It's a 15-20 minute walk to central Limoges. We didn't notice the sign about a complimentary alcoholic or non-alcoholic bar drink on arrival, so we missed out.

Breakfast was good. The room was large and in good shape, but there wasn't much useful furniture beyond the bed. A wall shelf takes the place of a table, and it's too shallow for a laptop. The basic metal chair gets painful after just a few minutes. There's also a small stool and an ottoman or coffee table, but neither gives you much space to put anything.

A comfortable bed, a good breakfast, and easy parking made this a great place to stay in Limoges.
