ibis budget Lisieux

The room and bathroom were very clean, and it was quiet overnight. Still, I don't think I'd choose to stay here again. We'd heard good things about Lisieux, so it was a surprise to have to find the hotel through an office park. We arrived late and checked in at a foyer kiosk. We'd never encountered that before, as every other hotel, motel or inn had welcomed us with front desk staff. As two women travelling, entering our room with a keypad instead of a key felt unnerving. There was no safety chain, so anyone with the PIN could have come in during the night. My adult daughter wedged the door with luggage and personal items so we could sleep more easily. The room was basic. The TV and desk fixed to the wall gave it a prison-house feel. The bathroom had a bathmat and two towels, but no hand towel. Many women appreciate having two towels, one for their head, especially with longer hair, and one for the body. We misunderstood the breakfast hours and came downstairs 10 minutes late. Staff had already put the chairs away and said we could take food on trays to our room. With so little furniture, we again felt like prisoners, eating from a tray on the mattress. Cleanliness earns it a 6 out of 10 from me, but I can't say I'd stay again.
