The heated pool was lovely in that weather, but its 10am-18h45 opening hours were too limited for me to fit in a morning workout. The kitchen kit came in handy during our stay. In the bathroom, though, one small soap and a single toilet paper roll for two adults over three nights felt tight. We'd reserved a studio for two, but both beds were far too small for adults. We could have used the sofabed, except only twin bed sheets had been provided. When we arrived late, the room was really cold, and at midnight we had to figure out where all the heaters were. The living room floor hadn't been cleaned properly, and the mattress covers weren't clean either. The residence's arrival map made it hard to find the parking. Reception asked the next morning how our arrival had gone, but once we said the map was unclear, they didn't seem interested anymore. They focused on collecting the tax and deposit.

There was just about enough parking, though it could get crowded in summer, and the lovely park right outside the main entrance was a real bonus. Our balcony had a stunning view and its glass enclosure would be nice in winter. The room itself was great, too, and the place is excellently located in town. Our issue was getting up to the second floor: it meant two flights of metal stairs with see through steps and no lift, which terrified our dog.

The self catering rooms have what you need and are nice enough, but they look a little worn and dated now. They could use a refresh.

A good spot in the historic city, and really handy for visiting the area's lovely castles.
