Breakfast was the low point for us. At €15 each, we got coffee or tea, some bread, a few micro pastries in a basket, jam, butter, and a glass of fresh orange juice for me. We tour Europe by bike and have had 100s of breakfasts, and this was the worst value by far. They could lower the price or add something like a boiled egg or local yogurt. Dinner at the highly rated restaurant was delicious, though a bit pricey. The room was better than the photos suggested, with a fantastic view from the top floor and a small balcony. The bathroom was very cosy and the headboard wobbled a little, but we slept well. The town gets blissfully quiet and dark at night. We arrived at the port of Locquirec on a busy, unusually warm Sunday afternoon, and the hotel sits right in the middle of the activity beside a small protected beach at medium-high tides. They also had an unusual but perfectly acceptable place to keep our bikes safely overnight, which we appreciated.

We were lucky to find an outside table without booking and enjoyed the mild weather and the harbour view from the terrace. It was also open for lunch on a Monday, which mattered to us. The menu had lots to choose from, including several specials. We both ordered Moules Cafe du Port and Moules lard Paysan, and they were delicious with crisp white wine. We shared a rich, chocolatey dessert. The service was welcoming and friendly. We paid €70 for the meal.

We chose this upscale restaurant for a special evening and had a great time, with really delicious food. The waiters were inattentive and slow to come by, so the service didn’t live up to the meal. Still, the food was good enough for me to give it five stars.

The food was so tasteless that I got home hungry and raided the fridge. Service was poor too, and the staff were unfriendly. I’ve eaten at different places in Locquirec many times, and the food and service have always been second to none. I’ll stick to those restaurants from now on. I didn’t stay at this hotel, only ate at its restaurant, and I won’t be coming back.
