B&B Ferme De La Tourelle

We came in November, and the hostess was wonderful. It's an amazing place, and a convenient base for visiting the Normandy coast.

We spent four nights at this lovely farmhouse in the French countryside. The owner, Delphine, was kind and helpful, and the breakfasts were plentiful and excellent. It's a great spot for exploring nearby, including a round at the beautiful Omaha Beach golf course. The property sits apart from the main building across a lovely courtyard. Most of the charming rooms are upstairs and have private bathrooms. Downstairs there's a pleasant living room with a TV, a big shared dining table and a fully equipped kitchen.

The hostess was extremely kind and helpful, and spoke excellent English. Our four-bed room was on the ground floor, and the price felt fair. This is a beautiful agriturismo in the French countryside, well placed for visiting Normandy and Mont Saint-Michel. The room had a slight stale smell, and the beds felt short for average-height people. At 1.83 m, I found them short, and the double bed was French-sized, smaller than we're used to in Italy. Cleanliness could have been better. The website seems to show the nicest rooms, and the ground-floor one could use a makeover.

The room was plain but comfortable, and breakfast with homemade jams was delicious. Paying was the awkward part: the manager didn't have change and suggested asking other guests for it. My partner and I managed to pay the exact amount, but otherwise we would have had to pay extra. That's why I gave four stars rather than five.
