Logis Hotel Spa Parenthese

The restaurant was amazing, the service was great, and the room was comfortable. I didn’t try the SPA. I was in room 1, close to reception and the restaurant, and it was quite noisy. I wouldn’t have slept without ear plugs, so I’ve taken off a star.

The restaurant was gorgeous and worth every penny. As a hotel, though, I wouldn’t return or recommend it to friends. The staff were less than welcoming, the rooms are past their best, and the air conditioning wasn’t great. Some of the expensive rooms also have a poor aspect. I stayed on night 16 of an 18-night tour of France in August 2017. The €140 “Romance Room” was advertised with a terrace, jacuzzi bath, view, and, most importantly, air conditioning. The room was tired, the view was only okay, and the air conditioning didn’t work. It took most of our one-night stay to try to sort it out, without success. We were given all kinds of explanations about noise throughout the hotel, though reception wasn’t noisy. An engineer came to look, but it was obvious the unit didn’t work. We eventually got another room after being quite forceful, but it was already 22:00. The air conditioning didn’t function properly there either. It was larger and on the other side of the hotel, and I’m sure they sell it as one of their best rooms. Room 45 has a lovely balcony overlooking the pool, but it gets no sun and is overshadowed by huge trees. That didn’t matter to us since we were leaving the next day. Don’t be fooled by the creative photography that makes the place look amazing. It really isn’t what’s advertised, and while I don’t mind paying a high price, I expect to get what I paid for.

The hospitality was outstanding, especially if you get to share a Vin de Paille with the manager ;). It’s an excellent place to find a table, a bed, or both in the region, and the comfort is great.

I booked a room for Sunday night, but the hotel left me locked outside. I couldn’t get hold of anyone to let me in, and nobody called me back. I had to quickly find another hotel for the night. Very bad service!!!!
