Kyriad Dunkerque Loon Plage

We stopped here for one night while travelling. It was easy to reach, just a few miles off the motorway, and handy for anyone taking the Eurotunnel and needing a place to sleep before carrying on. The room was small, but we only needed it for the night and found it clean and comfortable. The night clerk was really friendly and offered us drinks at no extra cost.

The room was clean, and having a fridge in the family room was a nice extra. The beds and linen were fine too. Still, the place could do with a refresh. The rooms look a bit dated, and the furniture in the reception and bar area is pretty worn.

The location works well for the DFDS Dunkirk ferry, and the staff were pleasant enough. But the rooms are dated, the bathroom door was damaged, and the window security shutter had been tied up so it couldn't drop. The car park gates weren't shut at night, though we didn't feel there was likely to be a problem. For the price, I've stayed in much better places, but also much worse. We stayed one night on 22. 04 2018, and probably won't come back.

We'd already stayed at the other two hotels, Premier class and the Campanile, so we were surprised to get a family room with two bedrooms and a kitchen here. It had a fridge freezer, hob, microwave and toaster, plus a kettle that we used. The bed was big and comfortable, and there was a TV, though we didn't turn it on. The room looked dated, but was fine for an overnight stop. My main complaint was the shower over the bath, which felt really dangerous to get in and out of. The large car park felt like the safest we'd ever used, with 14 police vans and buses belonging to the riot police parked there and officers guarding them. I don't see why we wouldn't stay here again.
