Helen and Marc welcomed us so warmly, with food tips and ideas for things to see nearby. We didn't get to take many trips because of the COVID-19 restrictions. Lorigné is a peaceful village of around 300 people, which could suit you or feel limiting depending on what you want from a stay. The house is tastefully decorated, and the pool and amenities were fantastic. We were glad to make use of them. There seem to be quite a few English people who have opened B&Bs or holiday homes nearby, so it's fine if your French isn't great ;-)

The area has lovely old churches, castles, and picturesque villages to explore, plus endless sunflower fields we couldn't get enough of. Back at the gîte, everything felt comfortable and luxurious, from the living room and kitchen to the terraces, beds, and bathrooms. The decor is tasteful, and the quality details stood out: very comfy mattresses and pillows, lovely sheets and towels, and soaps that smelled wonderful. The pool was fantastic, clean, a great size, and a lovely temperature. Even the outdoor shower had hot water. We had a wonderful summer holiday in this peaceful, spacious place, and hostess Helen was so attentive and made sure we had everything we needed.
