Holiday Inn Nice by IHG

We were just a short walk from the train station, which made trips to other Riviera highlights easy. The location is right in the center, near the main shopping street, with convenient access to the Promenade des Anglais, the Old Town, buses, and the tram. The rooms were excellent, and there’s a spacious restaurant terrace as well as a rooftop terrace. Highly recommended.

We had a decent stay, mostly because the location in the heart of Nice is so good. The rooms were comfortable, though a few more convenient touches would have helped. Service was acceptable but could be better, and breakfast fell short of what I’ve had at other Holiday Inn properties.

We loved staying here in Nice. The whole team made a real effort to look after us, especially the reception staff. Julia, Madina & Vincenzo deserve a mention, and the breakfast staff were lovely too. It was a delight to meet such cheerful people representing the property. Well done, and thank you!

The location was great, and both breakfast and the staff were excellent. But the suite, Room 920 I believe, was very disappointing. At about €600 for the room, I expected much better condition. There was mold in the bathroom, a moldy plastic shower curtain by the bathtub, and peeling paint on the ceiling. I’ve stayed in plenty of hotels and don’t consider myself demanding, but the price just didn’t match the room. Even with space for four people at €150 each, the value wasn’t there. We arrived at around 2:00 AM on October 10 and asked for a room for the rest of the night. The only one offered was a suite for about €600, plus roughly €50 for breakfast for two, so around €650 total. I hesitated to write this because I don’t want to accuse anyone unfairly, but for that amount you can find much better rooms in Nice and in other cities and countries. The dining area and breakfast were excellent, though.
